Titans forward Keegan Hipgrave has seen his share of close shaves on the footy field, but he was more than happy to renew his role as a Movember ambassador and face the razor again in the name of charity.

Tomorrow marks 1 November on the calendar, kicking off a month of facial hair and fundraising as males around the country create donation pages to raise money for prostate cancer and testicular cancer research, and also to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.

The cause is one close to Hipgrave. Like most Australian makes, the fiery Titan has a number of mates who have battled with mental health issues.

“For me, Movember is all about mental health and obviously raising awareness for testicular cancer and prostate cancer,” he said.

“It really just started when everyone around me that I looked up to had a mo.

“My dad had a mo, my godfather had a mo. So I’ve always wanted to grow one. Then I found out about Movember and what they were doing, I just thought it was a no-brainer to get involved.

“This is actually my third year in a row doing it, and I’m super excited to be part of it again.”
