The next crop of Titans stars yesterday joined the NRL squad in the annual all of club training session at the High Performance Centre.

With only a small number of training sessions left before the first block of pre-season training comes to an end, Coach Justin Holbrook and Elite Player Development Manager Jamie McCormack brought every contracted Titans player in for a joint training session, giving the young Titans a real look at the pathway to the top.

Close to 80 players were in attendance with Holbrook taking charge of the group in a real show of club unity.

McCormack, who heads up the Westfund Junior Titans System, has run this whole of club session for a number of years and can see the benefits for every player.

“Justin the NRL Coach has embraced the concept but it’s great for the juniors to mingle with the NRL players and make everyone feel as though we are one club and we’re all on the bus going in the same direction,” McCormack said.

“It’s a great opportunity for our juniors to actually train alongside our NRL squad.

“A lot of the boys are young and they’re super excited to catch and pass alongside an NRL player.

“It’s generally for all our boys that are contracted, along with their parents, to show that we are all connected. To show that there is a genuine pathway and I also think it’s a good opportunity to show the NRL that there is a new crop of talent coming through.”

Whilst it was more of a skills-based session, McCormack believes the benefits each of the young players will take away will help them in the future.

“There were a lot of skills and drills done,” McCormack added.

“They all aspire to get to where the NRL players are at. They’re not out of their depth skills-wise but they’ve got a bit of developing and growing to do yet.”
