The energetic outside back won the Tigers Players' Player award in 2019 and his high-energy football quickly endeared him to the Titans faithful after joining mid-season.

Thompson joined the Titans during the competition's hiatus due to COVID-19 after two rounds of the NRL season had been played.

As a Queenslander and the opportunity for a 3-year contract enticed Thompson to make the move north.

At the time of joining, Justin Holbrook praised Thompson's qualities on and off the field.

"He brings good experience with over 100 top-level games in the NRL and Super League, he’s played in a grand final.

"But most importantly brings great values to the club in the way he prepares and good, honest qualities in the way he interacts with his coaches and teammates.

"He is an anticipation player, who plays what is in front of him, and a Queensland guy excited about the chance to come home."

Thompson certainly delivered on his Coach's assessment as he covered wing and fullback and always tested opposition teams with his running game throughout the season.

Thompson went on to play 12 games for the Titans in 2020, scoring five tries and amassing 76 tackle breaks.

His preferred position of fullback is occupied by the talented AJ Brimson, meaning Thompson will fight it out for one of the wing spots.

The Titans will be flush with options on the flanks in 2021 with Thompson, Queensland Origin squad member Phil Sami, Titans' all-time leading try scorer for Anthony Don and young gun Treymain Spry all fighting for the two positions on the flanks.

One thing is for sure, wherever Thompson is asked to play Justin Holbrook knows he will get 100% from him for the Titans.
