Titans celebrate International Day of Persons with a Disability

The Gold Coast Titans have celebrated International Day of People with Disability with a celebration at Parkwood Village.

This year's theme is "Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World."

Gold Coast players Sam McIntyre, Jarrod Wallace and Anthony Don joined with members of Support Mates, Down Syndrome Queensland and the Titans PD and ID Rugby League teams for lunch and putt-putt at The Club.

“It’s really good to be there and to see all of these guys just have a good time and have a bit of fun,” Titans second rower Sam McIntyre said.

International Day of People with Disability is celebrated internationally on December 3.

The day helps to increase awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions.

“That’s something we’re really big on at the Titans that I’ve noticed,” McIntyre said.

“I’ve only been here a couple of weeks and it feels like I’ve been here a couple of years.

“Everyone has been really welcoming and that’s a big part of our Club.”

“There’s a place for everybody at the Titans,” said CEO Steve Mitchell.

“We’re proud to be an inclusive Club and it’s great to see everyone enjoying themselves today.

“I’d also like to thank Neumann Steel, a supporting partner of our community program, who joined us for today’s celebration.”
