"I am just enjoying life at the moment."
Tino Fa'asuamaleaui has officially arrived on the Gold Coast and joined his teammates for pre-season this week and the representative forward is settling in to his new surroundings.
Join Tino in the Legion and become a Titans Member.
Fa'asuamaleaui is temporarily living with fellow recruit David Fifita and enjoying life on the Coast.
"I have moved down here and I have been going to the beach every day after training. It's good to be here." Fa'asuamaleaui said.
Of his temporary housemate, Fa'asuamaleaui only had one issue.
"I just need to teach him how to cook!" Fa'asuamaleaui joked.
Having now joined pre-season Fa'asuamaleaui is focused on getting in shape and working towards getting in the team come round 1.
"Firstly I just want to get through the pre-season healthy and fit, I have just got to work hard.
The Titans conditioning staff have looked after him to date as they ease him into training, but Fa'asuamaleaui knows he has work to do to get a starting spot.
"There is a lot of competition here and it is good competition and I have still got to work hard to try and get that spot.
"Obviously it is one of my goals to try and get that number thirteen (jersey).
"Especially coming a bit late in the pre-season I have got to go that extra length to try and seal that spot.
Fa'asuamaleaui knows if he is to wear the #13 jersey he is replacing a representative player in the lock position who held the jersey for a number of years in Jai Arrow, who has since joined the Rabbitohs.
"My goal is to get that thirteen and he (Arrow) did a really good job there for years and I want to do a good job there too if I do get the jersey .
"I would be excited if I did."
For now though Tino is just focused on pre-season, but knows that the real thing and a round two date with the Broncos and Payne Haas awaits him.
"I just want to get through the pre-season healthy and once round one comes, I will start thinking about round 2, but just got to take it week by week first.
"I have just got to focus on myself now that I am here."
One thing is for sure, Tino may not have circled round 2 against the Broncos, but plenty of Titans fans will be eagerly awaiting to watch their new recruit play at Cbus Super Stadium in a Titans jersey for the first time.
