Phil Sami knows opportunity is knocking and he’s ready to answer.

The Queensland Origin player was left out of the Titans squad for round one, but rather than sulk he’s been set on making the most of his chances in 2021.

"It's everyone's goal to be in the 17 and I was unfortunate not to make the team but I'm not going to drop my lip and kick stones,” Sami said.

"Round two was my opportunity and I felt like I took that with both hands.

Finding himself in the centres with Brian Kelly missing through injury, Sami has been among the Titans best since returning to the side.

"I've played a lot of centre growing up and obviously I played there in the under 20s and the Intrust Super Cup as well.

"Personally, I prefer more centre than winger but I'm not going to complain about being in the team.

"I'm just grateful to be in the team and I can't wait to rip in this weekend.”

Sami will move back to the wing for the Titans round five clash against the Knights, replacing the injured Anthony Don, while Kelly returns to the centres.

It’ll be a change in position, but Sami’s vowed to keep the same attitude that’s lead him to strong performances over the last few weeks.

"I'll put my hand up for anywhere in the team and I think Justin knows that,” he said.

"I'm probably guessing I'll go to the right side because ‘the Don’ is out.

"I just want to make the most of any opportunities and just go hard whenever I get the chance.”

The shift means Sami will move away from David Fifita, someone he’s enjoyed linking up with in attack.

"He's definitely a beast of a player and you want to play alongside someone like that.

"He creates a lot of opportunities for our side.”

The Titans defeated the Knights 36 points to 6 in their last meeting at Cbus Super Stadium last year and will be looking to replicate that performance in front of home fans on Saturday afternoon.

Tickets are still available for the match which kicks off at 3pm.
