"We've got to be ready every single week," Holbrook says as attention turns to Souths

After a disappointing result against Manly in Mudgee, Titans coach Justin Holbrook says he needs to make sure his young side is ready for another tough test this coming week at Cbus Super Stadium.

The Titans sat inside the top-eight after the first five rounds, with comprehensive victories against Brisbane, North Queensland and Newcastle.

Against Manly in Mudgee, the Gold Coast side were handed a wake-up call that the coach says they won't hide from.

"We won't shy away from it," Holbrook said post-game.

"You have a couple of good wins and everyone tells you you're going good and then you forget to play the next week.

"We had been playing ok for the (first) five games this year and we've got a very young side so the minute you think you're travelling alright something like that can happen.

"We're not going to be at our best each week, but we don't want to be like that either.

"We've got to accept that, learn from it and get better for next week."

The Titans will get a chance to bounce back from the performance against Manly with a tough test at home against the South Sydney Rabbitohs as part of the NRL's Anzac Round.

The Titans are undefeated at Cbus Super Stadium in their last four games and will be looking for another home victory against Souths as both sides recognise the 100th anniversary of the Royal Australian Air Force as part of the match.

"The games roll around thick and fast and I think we spent this week patting each other on the back too much and thought we'd just go out and get the job done and got beaten easily," Holbrook said.

"At the end of the day, we've got to be ready every single week."
