Marzhew heads back to where it all started with Titans Schools League

He was once Titans Schools League winner playing for Woodridge State High and on Wednesday night, Greg Marzhew returned to where it all began for the 2021 edition of the Titans Schools League Finals.

Speaking to titans.com.au on the night Marzhew was impressed with what he saw.

"We are down here at the Titans Schools League watching some football," he said.

"At the moment it is Keebra and Marsden division 1 girls team and it is a pretty awesome game at the moment."

Asked about his own memories, some fond ones came to mind for the hulking winger.

"It was a pretty good competition," Marzhew said.

"It wasn't as big as it is now, but it was pretty good to be a part of it and we took it out when I played which was even better.

"In the dying seconds diving I remember scoring on the sideline when we beat Palm Beach to win the game and all of the boys just piled on top of me."

And what is hisĀ  message for aspiring Titans playing in this year's competition?

"You can get picked up from anywhere," He said.

"I got picked up when the competition was pretty small and now that it is bigger I expect a lot of juniors to get an opportunity from this."

Marzhew was on hand to present trophies for the major games including the Division 1 girls and was impressed with what he saw.

"It is pretty good (the girls game)," he said.

"I hadn't watched a lot of women's footy before tonight but it is really good and they are matching the boys game bigtime with aggression and skills and all that.

"It is good to see their footy develop."

So will there be a next Greg Marzhew to emerge from this years Titans Schools League?blobid0.jpg

Only time will tell.
