Mini pre-season planned for bye week

It might be a bye week, but Titans High Performance Manger Klint Hoare says it won't be a week off for the Titans ahead of their clash against the Eels at Cbus Super Stadium next Friday.

After a strong result against Canberra in round 16 (44 points to 6), the Titans squad has also pulled up injury free and will now build towards a massive clash against Parramatta.

"With a 13-day turn around before our match against the Eels at Cbus, it gives us a good opportunity for the coaching staff and our high performance team to expose the playing group to specific rugby league conditioning blocks," Hoare said.

"We will mix that with football drills and defensive work.

"Essentially it is a mini intensive pre-season block.

"We will also look at ways that we can implement recovery to freshen players up physically and mentally while navigating the 'bubble existence' leading into the back-end of the season."

Greg Marzhew continues his rehab for an elbow injury, while all five players who returned in the last round clash have pulled up well.

"The return and contribution of players Corey Thompson, Beau Fermor and Sam Lisone was outstanding with Thompson picking up from where he left off prior to his syndesmosis injury," Hoare said.

"Corey accumulated 156 run meters and 52m of that being post contact whilst Lisone gained 101 run meters from 11 hit ups, with 33m coming post contact."
