2021 is not a year that Greg Marzhew will forget in a hurry.

The 24-year old made his NRL debut, scored his first NRL try and has earnt himself a contract extension for another two years at the Gold Coast Titans.

"It's been great being able to finally get the platform and show what I can do," Marzhew said.

"I really love getting around the boys and they are a good bunch of boys here."

A talented junior player, Marzhew says he wasn't concerned with early praise and is glad that the work he's put in paid off.

"Coming through the NRL ranks, there was quite a bit (of talk) about me but I tried not to let that go to my head at the same time.

"I just stick to my own game and hopefully one day one of the coaches could trust me to do my job out on the big field.

"Justin has done that for me, so that has been heaps good."

Marzhew made his debut in the same game as Jayden Campbell.

The young fullback has impressed in his time in the top grade and Marzhew says people have only seen a glimpse of what Campbell can do.

"Personally I feel like we've only got a glimpse at his full potential," he said

"He is a freak.

"I can't wait for him to get some confidence in his game and just do what he can actually do.

"He is a nippy dude, he has got good ball handling skills and he is really evasive, so I reckon you could put him anywhere.

"There is a bit of pressure at the moment just because of the last two weeks and the two losses

"The boys don't think about it (the pressure) too much and we will just move on and do our next job.

"If we can get back to the footy that we were playing prior to the losses I think we will be sweet.

The Titans ninth sit level on points with the Sharks (8th) and Raiders (10th), and face the seventh placed Knights this week.

Marzhew says despite it being a must-win game, the team won't overcomplicate things.

"I think it is pretty simple, just run hard and tackle hard and do our job.

"(Ponga) is a big threat and he's got a bit of skill, so yeah it will be good to try and get their key role players to have a quiet night."
