Queensland Australian of the Year and Gold Coast Titans PDRL & IDRL team doctor, Dr Dinesh Palipana OAM has reflected on the 2021 season and his hope for the future of the club.
Dr Dinesh Palipana generously volunteers his time to the Titans Leagueability program and has donated over $15,000 to our Leagueability program this year alone.
Dr Dinesh said he was motivated to join the club after meeting with players and staff and getting a better understanding of the Titans community work.
“The staff, players, Leagueability players and their families encouraged me to be a part of the club, they all do such a big part for the community,” Dr Dinesh said.
“The people in the club, the hearts and the love that everyone has, it truly is a club that binds the community together.
“It is a club that wants to do good and truly means something for the city.
“To be a part of something that wants to do something bigger than itself, I could feel that from the very start,” he said.
Speaking about his hope for the club over the next ten years, Dr Dinesh said he knows the club will continue making the community proud.
“If we are having these conversations with the community already about disability through our club, that is going to have an impact,” Dr Dinesh said.
“It is going to have an impact on our community, on society and on the world.
“In fact, we tell society and talk about the work we do at the Gold Coast Titans across the world, in forums and committees worldwide.
“To see this as a beacon for inclusion, that is an ongoing thing we can do over the next ten years.
“To tell the world that an NRL club is involved in inclusion and that we truly care about the community is amazing.
“I hope that we can tell a story to the rest of community and generate change by it.
“I feel really privileged to be a part of the club. I feel so happy to be a part of the club and to know Steve, Dennis, the staff and players, it warms my heart every day,” Dr Dinesh said.
