Brimson proud of hard-fought Eels contest

Proud of the effort shown on Saturday night, Gold Coast five-eighth AJ Brimson has a few little elements of his game he wants to continually improve on.

The Titans let Parramatta shoot out to a 20-0 lead in the opening 40 before an inspirational comeback helped get within six points of the top four favourites.

"I thought we had them in the end. It was a good effort and I think Justin will be pleased with the second half. We just made things hard for us in the end with too much to chase," Brimson said post-match.

The new No. 6 was impressive with his boot, playing a helping hand in the first two tries to start the resurgence, but wants to keep working on his kicking game as he continues to grow as a playmaker.

"I've got a pretty unorthodox kicking game. When they're meant to go left, they usually go right and vice-versa, but it makes it hard for them (the opposition), so I'll keep working on it," Brimson said.

With a bumper crowd braving the weather to show their support for the club, Brimson hopes he was able to make the Legion proud despite the result.

"Hopefully we made them proud. It wasn't the result we wanted, but hopefully we gave them a good game and they keep sticking by us," Brimson said.

The Titans will next face Manly in Sydney on Saturday afternoon.
