Titans add premiership-winning hooker to pack for '23

One of the most exciting young hookers in the competition will head to the Gold Coast in 2023 with Sam Verrills to become a Titan.

The 23-year-old joins the club from the Sydney Roosters.

Verrills has already achieved premiership success as part of the Roosters grand final winning side in 2019.

Titans Coach Justin Holbook says he’s excited to add a player of Verrills’ calibre to the Gold Coast spine next season.

“Sam has great vision and is a real threat from that hooker position," he said.

“He’s learnt his craft under Origin hooker Jake Friend and has been able to really shine in that number nine jersey for the Roosters in recent seasons.

“We’ve got great experience joining our spine next year with the arrival of Kieran Foran and our key positions will be further bolstered with Sam’s arrival.

“When you add those two players to our mix of exciting young players who have come through our pathway programs here on the Coast like AJ Brimson, Jayden Campbell and Toby Sexton, we’re really confident with the squad we are building for next year and beyond.”

Verrills will officially become at Titan from November 1 and is locked in for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
