Jojo a go-go at Titans till 2029

Jojo Fifita has put pen to paper to remain on the Gold Coast for a further two seasons beyond his current contract, extending his time as a Titan until the end of 2029.

His new deal comes after yet another stellar year, earning his maiden Maroons jersey and representing Queensland in all three games of the 2026 Origin series as one of the NRL's most exciting outside backs.

Jojo’s signature sees both Fifita’s retained until the end of the 2029 season with younger brother Viliami progressing from the club’s pathways program to a long-term NRL deal last year.

Joining the Titans from The Southport School and making his NRL debut in 2022, the 23-year-old has now made 78 appearances in first grade – including 20 this season for the Titans at centre.

His power, speed and attacking ability have continued to make him a dangerous proposition on the Gold Coast and his development under Titans head coach Josh Hannay has further strengthened his standing as an important part of the club’s future.

"It’s a huge coup to have Jojo remain a Titan and he has gone to another level in his career this year," Hannay said.

"Headlined by his Maroons debut earlier in the season, I know how much of a proud moment that was for him and his family, and I can see him being a decade-long Origin player for Queensland in the future.

"Jojo has got some outstanding natural attributes. He's powerful, he's got genuine speed and he's capable of creating something every time he gets the ball; but what excites us most is that he's still got plenty of growth left in his game.

"He wants to learn, he wants to improve and he wants to be the best player he can be, especially with positional certainty and his role within our team.

"Jojo's progression this year is indicative of the patience required with these good young players. Consistency takes time and now 78 games into his career, he’s become a consistent high performing NRL player.

"The many good young players we're bringing through our program like Jojo will also benefit from being given the necessary time and patience to grow."

Fifita’s career development and belief in what is being built on the Gold Coast is why he inked a new long-term deal.

"This club means a lot to me. I’m a one club man and hopefully it stays that way for a long time," Fifita said.

"Family is also a big thing for me and being so close to them is another major part of extending.

"I can see the clear direction this club is heading. I know this season hasn’t been the best of years for us results-wise, but I see improvement every week and our squad are really buying into what we want to achieve here at the Titans with Josh as our coach.

"With time, we’re just going to keep getting better."
