Last word: Time to back up Sunday's success

Justin Holbrook was one happy man after his side broke their unlucky run, but the Titans coach knows the most important thing to consolidate that win is backing it up against the Dragons.

Getting the wood over them in a Magic Round thriller just over three months ago, the Gold Coast mentor is hoping to replicate the same result when they face off this afternoon.

"I'd be happy with the same result," he said.

"Obviously their main threats is Ben Hunt. He's playing fantastically and doing everything for them at the moment.

"They're they're competing hard and they came really close last week and the week before against the Sharks, so they're a good side, but for us it's around how we play and I was really happy with how we played last week, but it's about doing that again."

Having identified the key to shutting down the Red V is their halves this week, Holbrook is hoping his playmaking pair can weather the storm after last Sunday's impressive display.

"They always have a big impact. It's the old story where the forwards lay the platform and the halves control the game," Holbrook said.

"I think the way Ben Hunt and young Amone - he's so lively with the ball - so they're a very dangerous side, but I was really happy with the way Tanah and AJ went for us last week, so we need them to play really well again this week."

The Titans have also been boosted with the return of inspirational skipper Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, who missed last Sunday's clash due to the birth of his second daughter.

"It was good for our group and good for Tino to have a rest. He was pretty exhausted himself after his partner gave birth and he didn't have to do anything, so well done to all the women out there," Holbrook said.

"We all know how hard Tino tries, so it was good to get a win without him, but it's great to have him back in this week."

Kick-off against the Dragons is at 2pm in Wollongong.
