Injury update: Outside backs monitored after heavy hits against Dragons

Phil Sami and Patrick Herbert will complete the necessary return to play protocols ahead of this Sunday's double header against the Knights at Cbus Super Stadium after failing their HIA's in the Round 23 clash at Wollongong.

With both being ruled out mid-game due to acts of foul play, their availability for this weekend will be determined after medial consultation throughout the week.

In a further blow to Herbert, he also picked up an injury to his MCL in his right knee in the same tackle, with the centre sent for scans to determine the extent of the injury. It is anticipated he is requiring a period of rehabilitation that will likely rule him out for the remainder of the season.

After failing to finish training last Thursday, strike centre Brian Kelly is progressing well having had the weekend off with knee soreness. He will be monitored this week with an aim to be available for Sunday afternoon's game.

Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Jacob Alick will be monitored through the week having suffered minor back and knee injuries respectively; although, both will aim to be available this weekend.

As reported last Friday, Erin Clark had his arthroscope to his recent left knee meniscal injury last Wednesday and is recovery well. He will begin his rehab with an aim to return to full training day one of pre-season.

The remainder of the squad is fit and healthy and will be available for Round 24.
