Stat attack: Campbell's Tedesco-like numbers in Round 23

Titans young gun Jayden Campbell is proving he can match it with the best of the best in the NRL after a stellar performance in Round 23 against the Dragons.

Despite going down to the Red V in Wollongong, the 22-year-old found his name near the top of the stats sheets across the competition for the high-scoring round, delivering the same numbers and performance as world-class fullbacks such as the Roosters' James Tedesco and Panthers' Dylan Edwards.

Campbell ran for 259 metres in Sunday's contest - only two metres behind the Roosters captain who topped the tally across the competition - which is the second time this year the Gold Coast youngster has gone above the 200 mark; ironically, the other time this season also happened to be against the Dragons in Magic Round.

As well as his exemplary metres with the ball in hand - which includes 62 of those being post-contact - the electrifying No. 1 broke seven tackles, offloaded the ball three times and also had a line break assist.

But the most impressive stat across the weekend was being part of a three-way tie for the most carries registered in the week; with him, Roosters edge forward Angus Crichton and Sharks winger Ronaldo Mulitalo each having 20.

It's fair to say the son of a gun is in a impressive vein of form since returning to fullback after his hamstring injury, averaging 176 run metres and six tackle breaks, which makes him one young and exciting prospect to watch when the Titan face off against the Knights this Sunday, as part of a double header at Cbus Super Stadium.

Be there at Cbus Super Stadium this Sunday for our NRL/NRLW double header against the Knights, as the Titans say thanks to the Gold Coast - secure your seat today!
