Once foes, the Legion now Brown's best friend

The last time Lauren Brown played at Cbus Super Stadium, she can still remember getting booed... but all for good reason.

That's because she was running around her home ground as a Bronco, and the parochial Legion were cheering home their Titans as the Gold Coast celebrated a historic 28-26 win against their M1 rivals in the first NRLW local derby earlier this year.

Now proudly wearing sky blue and gold, the marquee playmaker can't wait to run out this time as a Gold Coast Titan to the parochial home crowd who will be in force to cheer them home.

"I'm really looking forward to playing in front of home fans this time around. Last time, I was in a Broncos jersey and they were booing me, so I'm really excited," she said.

"Gold Coast fans are so passionate and they really get behind their team, so I'm really looking forward to them cheering us on and trying to drive us home."

Going down in Round 1 to the Dragons in Wollongong, the result wasn't the start the side was hoping for but doesn't want to dwell on it given how short the season is.

"Obviously it was a very disappointing result to not come away with the win on the weekend. You never want to start your season off with a loss, but the girls are in high spirits and we're willing to put in the work this week to fix what went wrong and hopefully get the win over the Knights," Brown said.

"Karyn [Murphy] was pretty good after the game, she didn't want to dive into too many details post-game and said there was no point kicking stones.

"We've got another game this week coming up, so we were given an hour of sooking and then once that was over, we started focusing on our next job which is against Newcastle this Sunday."

The focus ahead of this weekend's matchup against the Knights will be finessing the key combinations with Brown having plenty of confidence in the Titans' new-look outfit to get the job.

"I think it was quite obvious that we we did look a bit rusty and our combos weren't where they should be, so that's what we're going to have to work on this week... our defence, our combos, our attack and just our connection as a team," Brown said.

"We've got the strike power and we've got the players, so I'm confident in this team we have, so it's just a matter of everyone believing and just backing each other."

The Titans No.7 is especially keen to face off against Novocastrian's playmakers, particularly young gun Jesse Southwell after her stellar debut at only age 17.

"Their halves combo... Kirra Dibb has got an incredible kicking game and as everyone saw, young Jesse Southwell has a great running game with the ball and she plays good eyes up footy," Brown said.

"With her 7s background, just coming back with a gold medal from the Commonwealth Games, she's a really good off-the cuff-player and will definitely be a threat no matter where she is on the field."

Kick off is at 6.10pm, following the Round 24 NRL clash between the Titans and Knights.

Be there at Cbus Super Stadium this Sunday for our NRL/NRLW double header against the Knights, as the Titans say thanks to the Gold Coast - secure your seat today!
