It was a welcomed Hostplus Cup return for Titans-contracted flyer Alofiana Khan-Pereira, scoring a scintillating hat-trick in Burleigh's 32-16 win over the Capras at Pizzey Park.

Sidelined for three weeks due to injury, the 21-year-old sensation made his way back in style, getting the party started with a first half double in the space of four minutes and completed the treble in the 67th minute to seal victory for his Bears teammates.

Not only did he notch up his 25th four-pointer of the season, the electrifying back ran for 296 metres, recording two line breaks and four tackle breaks in the process to claim player of the match honours in the process.

The minor premiers will now face Redcliffe next weekend for a ticket to the Hostplus Cup grand final.

For Tweed, they'll be ruing a second half capitulation as the Falcons scored 24 unanswered points to draw level at full-time, before a penalty goal right in front during the golden-point period knocked the Seagulls out of the finals race at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Khan-Pereira shines as Burleigh progress to prelims

The Burleigh Bears have progressed to next week’s grand final qualifier against the Redcliffe Dolphins following an entertaining win over the Central Queensland Capras at Pizzey Park.

It was the return of their flying winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira that seemed to spark the Bears X-factor in attack.

The home side looked dangerous from anywhere on the field, scoring five of their six tries from more than 40 metres out with Khan-Pereira scoring three from within the Bears half.
