Countdown to kick-off: Titans launch 2023 season

The Titans have officially launched the 2023 NRL season with an infectious heir of positivity and energy.

On the back of an extremely thriving off-season which has seen the playing group tried, tested and pushed to help get back on track and bring success to the Gold Coast, over 450 people gathered at The Star on Wednesday night to officially kick-off the season proper with sense of optimism after a promising fortnight in the recent trials period.

Finishing fourth in the new NRL Pre-Season Challenge, both trials against the Broncos and Dolphins had plenty of promising signs, creating plenty of excitement and energy among members, fans and sponsors of the club.

This has included a surge in memberships and ticket sales, with the club on-track to eclipse last year's record-breaking number of fans who have joined the Legion.

Titans CEO Steve Mitchell couldn't be any more excited for what's come after a busy off-season and pre-season of hard-work, but he doesn't want to get too caught up in the recent results with the real deal to kick-off in just over a weeks' time.

"The response from our trials has been really positive, particularly from our fan base and sponsors," Mitchell said.

"They’re pretty pumped about the year ahead and so are we as an organisation, but we’re not overcalling anything yet.

"We still have a lot of work to do, but hopefully we're on track."

Bolstered by big-name recruits Kieran Foran and Sam Verrills who have impressed in their pre-seasons at Parkwood, Mitchell is excited to see them in action after what they've been able to bring to the club on and off the field.

"They’ve been fantastic for us so far, but it’s early days and we haven’t played an official fixture yet," he said.

"Both are great characters and have added a lot in the footy program. I thought they both enjoyed their footy last week and we’re really looking forward to them playing in Round 1."

The Titans will travel to Sydney to face the Wests Tigers in the season opener on Sunday, March 5.
