Key Three: Titans redemption with 80 minute performance against Manly

The Gold Coast Titans have put in a strong 80 minute performance against the Manly Sea Eagles to secure a gritty 26 - 10 victory in wet conditions.

These are the key three talking points from our Round 9 clash with the Manly Sea Eagles.

1. Tough Defence

Starting the game on the back foot with little ball, the Titans had to defend their line for repeat sets with much of the football in their own half.

The side, led by captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, continued to push through with gritty defence, highlighted by two try savers on the line to keep Manly try-less.

Throughout the entire 80 minutes, Manly were kept to just one try, a credit to the tough defence in wet conditions of the Gold Coast Titans side.

2. Redemption

Leading 16-2 at half time, everybody was talking about last week's result and the possibility of a Manly comeback.

Justin Holbrook was able to calm these nerves at half time, and even though Manly scored first in the second half the Titans were able to calm themselves and return to their style of football which ultimately secured tonight's 26-10 victory.

In an interview after the game, David Fifita spoke about the embarrassment of last week's result and the motivation it gave him and his teammates to redeem themselves and make the Titans Members and fans proud - something they definitely did tonight.

3. Foran stands tall

Facing his old side for the first time as a Titan, Kieran Foran showed courage in defence and the maturity that 268 first grade experience provides you as he led the Titans side around the park at Brookvale Oval.

Picking up an injury in the first half, the 32 year old playmaker battled through the pain and continued to play his role alongside Tanah Boyd in the halves, guiding his side to victory in a determined showing.
