NRL 2023: Titans, Round 14 team: Young gun unleashed to stop the hop of Bunnies

Teen sensation Keano Kini will get the opportunity to wear the Gold Coast No. 1 jersey for the first time when the Titans return to Cbus Super Stadium and face the Rabbitohs in Round 14.

After debuting in Magic Round and coming off the bench for the final 13 minutes in that victory, the 19-year-old whiz kid will line-up at fullback in his second NRL appearance following an impressive run in the Hostplus Cup; averaging 192 running metres, four tackle breaks and a try assist per game in his seven outings playing in that position for Burleigh.

Kini's inclusion sees Jayden Campbell move to five-eighth to partner Tanah Boyd in the halves, with Kieran Foran rested for the next fortnight after courageously playing through a ruptured ligament in his plantar plate.

Sam Verrills also makes his long-awaited return from a collarbone injury and will come off the bench in his first outing since Round 2, with Chris Randall to start and retain the No. 9 jersey for the clash after impressing since getting his opportunity to start.

Maroons duo Tino Fa'asuamaleaui and David Fifita have both been named to start and back-up from their Origin appearance on Wednesday night, with coach Justin Holbrook to make the call on their final availability at the team's captain's run on Friday.

Kick-off is at 5.30pm on Saturday, with a strong crowd expected at Cbus Super Stadium for the Titans' first game back at home in seven weeks.
