9.15pm – Fotuaika wins second Paul Broughton Medal

Moeaki Fotuaika has claimed his second Paul Broughton Medal to reward his stellar season in Titans colours, taking home the Gold Coast’s top honour on Wednesday night. 

First winning the accolade in 2019 in his first full NRL season as a teenager, the 23-year-old was the most consistent performer on the field in 2023, earning an Origin recall for the Maroons and his good form is also expected to see him represent Tonga next month in a Test series against England. 

9.10pm – Coaches Award 

In his first season on the Gold Coast, Chris Randall has proven to be a revelation as the ultimate utility, earning acknowledgement from the coaching staff. 

The 27-year-old has been a tackling machine and defensive workhorse, averaging 34 with an impeccable 95 percent efficiency and notched his 50th NRL appearance in Melbourne along with extending his time at Parkwood until the end of the 2026 season after a stellar start. 

9.05pm - Rounds 22-24 votes revealed 

With only three rounds to go, it’s Moe Fotuaika’s to lose with the 2019 medallist now six points clear of David Fifita. All eyes will be on the votes from Round 25.

9pm – Players’ Player 

In the first year of this being reintroduced to the 2023 Club Awards, Moeaki Fotuaika has taken out the honour bestowed by his peers.

One of the most consistent performers in 2023… is the vote of confidence from the NRL squad a prelude of what’s to come? 

9pm – NRL Rookie of the Year

It is no surprise Alofiana Khan-Pereira has earnt rookie of the year honours for his 20 tries across 23 appearances, with the 21-year-old preparing to make his International debut on the wing for the Prime Minister’s XIII against the Kumuls this weekend. 

8.55pm - Rounds 19-21 votes revealed

Jayden Campbell has shot a number of places but it’s a two-horse race at the front of the pack as Fotuaika and Fifita battle it out for the top prize. It will be Fifita’s first medal should he win.

8.50pm – Shannon Mato is named NRLW Player of the Year

It’s back-to-back honours for Shannon Mato, with the prop judged the best NRLW player of the season for the second year in a row.

The powerful forward currently leads the competition for running metres and post-contact metres with her go-forward helping lead the charge up front. 

8.40pm – NRLW Awards announced - Rookie, Coach's Award & Player's Player

Preparing to face the Roosters in Sydney on Sunday, a number of the club’s NRLW awards have been revealed as the entire room wishes them the best of luck in chasing a grand final berth. 

Young gun Chantay Kiria is this season’s rookie after impressing at only 18 years of age; meanwhile, Georgia Hale has picked up the Coaches Award for her inspiring leadership as captain, with 402 tackles at an incredible 99.4 percent efficiency.  

Shannon Mato has been chosen as this year’s players’ player by her peers – an incredible achievement in the award’s first year.  

8.20pm - Rounds 14-18 votes revealed 

Speculation has grown on who could take out this year’s medal after Rounds 14-18 were recapped. Moe Fotuaika has taken a handy lead in what will be his second gong should he win it.

8.20pm – Members’ MVPs

The Titans Legion is the lifeblood of the Gold Coast’s fan base and this year, David Fifita and Evania Pelite have been judged the Members’ Most Valuable Players for 2023.

Fifita returned to his lethal and powerful best with the Legion excited by his Origin recall, whilst Pelite picks up back-to-back gongs from the members after also earning the honour last year. 

8.10pm: NRLW GOAT honoured with Preston Award 

Awarded to a club participant who embodies what it means to be a Titan, Steph Hancock continues to make an incredible contribution to rugby league in what is now her 21st season at the youthful age of 41.

Inspiring young girls to play the greatest game of all - especially in the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers community - and for this, receives this year’s Preston Award. 

Hancock’s service has also seen her as the club’s NRLW Ken Stephens Medal nominee for 2023. 

7.55pm: Milne, Grant acknowledged for Netball excellence

Jess Milne has been announced as the Sapphire Series player of the year after helping the Titans get to the preliminary final – the highest ranking yet for the side in its second season.

Shanee Grant has been awarded the player of the year in the Ruby team after their maiden grand final appearance against the Tigers in the decider.

7.45pm: Round 8-12 votes revealed

 The Titans have reflected on Rounds 8-12 in the NRL, with the votes revealed for those weeks of competition.

7.40pm: Leagueability Awards

A hugely important program of the Gold Coast Titans, the club’s Leagueability program continues to go from strength to strength with continued growth in 2023, including the opportunity to train and play at Cbus Super Stadium.

Three players have been recognised for their incredible performance on and off the field, with Angelo Steele (IDRL), Cameron Cullen (PDRL) and Ryley Alexander (All Abilities) awarded player of the year honours for their respective competitions.

7.30pm: Titans event extraordinaire acknowledged

The woman with a portfolio handling Titans’ events and corporate hospitality has been honoured with the club’s Staff Excellence Award.

Jayde Lincoln works tireless before and during game days to ensure hospitality at Cbus Super Stadium is the best product possible alongside other club events throughout the year.

Her proudest achievement in 2023 included organising the Joseph Pouniu fundraising lunch in Brisbane which raised a phenomenal amount of money for the Future Titan who was injured in a pre-season earlier this year.

7.15pm: Welcome

Traditional land owner Uncle John Graham and Gold Coast Titans chair Dennis Watt have officially welcomed everyone to the 2023 Paul Broughton Medal.

Channel 9 Wide World of Sports commentator Peter Psaltis is on the mic tonight alongside Andy Raymond and Marlee Silva.

There’s just under half an hour until players, their partners, staff and distinguished guests begin to arrive at the Star Casino Ballroom ready for the 2023 Paul Broughton Medal.
