Titans and The Lottery Office are Top Blokes

The Gold Coast Titans may not have got the result they wanted on field yesterday, but there was a significant win off it, with the club partnering with Top Blokes and Logan's Legacy to highlight mental health.

The Titans partnered with Top Blokes to showcase their programs (including Logan's Legacy) and provide a fundraising platform.

The day proved a success in many ways, and the $46,344 raised is just one of those.

Titans' Principal Partner, The Lottery Office, was the biggest contributor of all with a $20,000 donation that will assist young boys and men complete the Top Blokes program in the future.

It costs $1,000 for Top Blokes to put one young male through their evidence-based 6-month program and they believe that every young male deserves the opportunity to grow into a Top Bloke and give them the tools to do that.

So, donations like the one from The Lottery Office go a long way.

The day held special significance for Titans captain Kieran Foran and his family as Top Blokes focused on Logan's Legacy.

Just last year, Foran, a Top Blokes Ambassador, experienced the tragic loss of his stepson Logan Steinwede.

Logan’s death brought to light the stark reality that young males are disproportionately represented in suicide statistics, with 75% of the 3,000 suicides each year in Australia being boys and men.

For Foran, the disappointment in the result was clear, but the game meant so much more.

Other key activity across the day included:

  • Top Bloke precinct display with handouts and information
  • Mick Fanning and Karina Foran (Logan's mother) delivering the matchball in Logan's honour
  • Top Blokes signage across the stadium
  • A special cheque presentation post-game
