The Titans wish to join with the Australian Rugby League Commission in congratulating Des Hasler on his 500th game as a NRL coach this Saturday against the Warriors.
Beginning his coaching career in 2004 after an illustrious 317-game career, the 64-year-old steered the Manly Sea Eagles to the 2008 and 2011 premierships before joining Canterbury Bulldogs, to which he helped to grand finals in 2012 and 2014.
He later re-joined the Sea Eagles in 2019 before moving to the Gold Coast in 2024.
Hasler becomes the sixth coach in premiership history to reach the prestigious honour; behind Wayne Bennett (956*), Tim Sheens (693), Brian Smith (601), Craig Bellamy (594*) and Ricky Stuart (534*).
Titans chairman Dennis Watt lauded the incredible achievement.
"Des Hasler is a true icon of our game, as a player and as a coach," he said.
"The ultimate competitor, his deep knowledge and passion for the game has been two of his greatest strengths across his coaching career, which he was also renowned for as a player.
"With such a profound commitment to preparation and detail every week, no one can question Des' work ethic in striving to achieve success, which has included five grand finals and two premiership across his 20 years of mentoring.
"To reach 500 games as a coach after a decorated playing career of 300+ games is a remarkable milestone that should be acknowledged and celebrated, and on behalf of the Titans and the wider game, I'd like to congratulate Des on the incredible achievement."
