The NRLQ is set to return in 2026 with the Titans to begin preparations this Sunday against the Fiji Silktails at Currumbin.
The Queensland-based Under 21s tournament was a hit last season for the inaugural season and is back soon, but an international trial awaits Gold Coast who have been training hard over the pre-season in readiness for the new campaign.
A thriving environment under new pathways coaches Todd Carney, Nathan Small alongside pathways manager and NRLQ head coach Matt Keating, players have had consistent training opportunities, improved performance standards and a clear aligned framework across all age groups with the revamped structure.
Following Under 17 and 19 success against the Newcastle Knights in their recent trial match at Coffs Harbour, the Under 21s will now get their opportunity to dust off the boots and put all their pre-season work into practice against the Silktails.
Kick-off is at 1pm on Sunday at Merv Craig Sporting Complex, Currumbin.
Titans.com.au has identified several Future Titans players to watch in the showdown:
Isaac Harrison
The twin brother of Titans rising playmaker Zane, Isaac is a middle forward with a great work ethic and strong leadership qualities through his actions on and off the field. Harrison has been a consistent performer at training and games in recent years as part of the pathways program and is expected to have another strong game against Fiji.
Lukji Yloi
Yloi joined the Future Titans prior to the NRLQ Under 21s kicking off in 2025 and did a tremendous job throughout last year in every game of the series. An emerging edge forward, he'll be one to watch in 2026 off the back of a great pre-season.
Meihana Pauling
Making the move from New Zealand after transitioning from the Warriors in 2025, Pauling is poised to have a strong start in the No. 1 jersey and gets his first opportunity this Sunday. He's always competing with his efforts and has a strong willingness to learn.
