The Titans have bolstered their long-term NRLW roster with Karyn Murphy locking in one of Queensland’s most promising and highly sought after young playmakers.
Spending the next 12 months continuing her development through the club's Future Titans program, rising halfback Lilianah Lewis will join the NRLW squad on a full-time contract for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
Renowned for her ball-playing, game management and strong kicking game, the National Schoolgirls champion's rise has been guided by instinct and composure beyond her years.
When it came to securing her future with the Titans through to 2028, the Marsden State High School playmaker didn’t hesitate - confident in the direction set by Murphy and the club.
"I was sitting in my friend’s car in the school carpark when I jumped on the Zoom call with Murph," Lewis said.
"She spoke about where she sees my future with the club, and in that moment, everything just felt right.
"Dad called me straight after and I just knew... I want to be a Titan."
Feeling a mix of emotions ahead of her first training session with the NRLW squad in January, Lewis admitted stepping into the squad as one of the younger players was a little daunting, but the presence of familiar faces helped ease her in.
"As one of the younger players going to training, there are definitely nerves, but having familiar faces around makes it feel comfortable," she said.
"You also hear so much about Georgia Hale and the effect she can have on a training session.
"She just lifts everything when she's out there, so I'm excited for her to return in the pre-season."
Murphy hailed the young gun’s signing as a major boost for the program, highlighting the club's continued commitment in nurturing homegrown talent.
"Lil is exactly the type of player we want at the heart of our future, so locking her in is incredibly exciting," the Titans coach said.
"Even at a young age, she’s stood out in the respective lower grades and was most impressive in our recent pathways match against the Knights with her ability to lead the team around and control the match with the No. 7 on her back.
"With Lil in our elite pathway program this year, she’ll continue to grow alongside our squad, and we’re excited to see the impact she’ll make in 2027 as she joins our top 24 squad."
