The Titans are proud to unveil their 2026 heritage jersey - a replica of the Gold Coast Chargers design to celebrate 30 years since the iconic franchise’s inception.
Drawing inspiration from the unmistakeable purple, teal and gold colours that were introduced to the Gold Coast in 1996; the flashback is set to instantly take fans back to an unforgettable era of rugby league.
In the midst of the Super League war, the Chargers were born from the brink of extinction after it was thought all hope for professional rugby league on the Gold Coast was lost following the demise of the Seagulls.
With the ARL recognising the importance of keeping the game alive in the region, the franchise was essentially a fresh operation with a brand new board of directors, chairman and CEO after previously starting in 1988 as the Gold Coast-Tweed Giants.
After three seasons during a turbulent time in the game, the Chargers fell victim to the ARL / Super League merger with 1998 their last year in the competition, closing the book on Gold Coast's first professional rugby league club after many iconic chapters.
The jersey will be worn at this year's Magic Round and then in the Titans' Round 16 game against the Panthers at Cbus Super Stadium - coinciding with the club's own Retro Round and Old Boys' Day.
The design is modelled on the 1998 edition of the synonymous jersey that features bold colours and powerful lines, with integration from the club's principal partner The Lottery Office - conceptualising their logo to match the shape and design of Home Hardware who featured on the front of the original kit.
Premier partner EMF have also made alterations to their logo to imitate the playing numbers that were printed on the sleeves during the Chargers' playing days.
One of the most requested merchandise items by members and fans, the jersey is now available to purchase via the Titans Shop.
