NRL 2026: Titans, Round 16 team: Origin duo named to back-up as Chargers fever hits Cbus Super Stadium

Titans coach Josh Hannay will give Jojo Fifita and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui every opportunity to back-up for Saturday's Retro Round clash against the Panthers after Origin II in Melbourne.

Named in the Titans' starting side for the upcoming battle against the NRL ladder leaders, the pair will fly back to the Gold Coast on Thursday after playing for the Maroons at the MCG and are anticipated to rejoin their teammates on Friday.

The duo's expected inclusions sees both Klese Haas and Jaylan De Groot drop back to the bench; whilst Lachlan Ilias joins the extended interchange alongside Round 15 debutant Jett Liu, who played 21 minutes in his maiden appearance on Sunday.

The club's first game at home in 49 days, the Titans will wear their ever-popular heritage jersey again after debuting the playing strip at Magic Round, paying homage to the Gold Coast Chargers.

The design is modelled on the 1998 edition of the synonymous jersey that features bold colours and powerful lines, with integration from the club's principal partner The Lottery Office - conceptualising their logo to match the shape and design of Home Hardware who featured on the front of the original kit.

Having sold out a number of times due to continued unprecedented demand, the full merchandise has been restocked and available to purchase again via the Titans Shop.

Kick-off is at 5.30pm on Saturday at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
