The Lottery Office donate $50,000 to support Jai Arrow and MND Queensland
The Gold Coast Titans’ principal partner The Lottery Office have kickstarted the club’s upcoming Stand with Jai Round with an incredible $50,000 donation to support the Arrow family and those in the community who are tackling motor neurone disease.
The Lottery Office will contribute $25,000 to MND Queensland and a further $25,000 to the Family of League’s official Stand with Jai fundraiser, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Queensland families and communities facing significant challenges.
The donation comes as the Titans join with the game to rally behind the Gold Coast junior following his diagnosis with MND, while also recognising the vital work MND Queensland undertakes to support individuals and families living with the disease across the state.
The Lottery Office has proudly supported the Titans for the past three seasons and CEO Jaclyn Wood looks forward to extending that support to Jai’s fight against MND that has united the rugby league community, making the announcement at Arrow’s junior club Burleigh Bears on Thursday.
"Jai inspired so many throughout his football career, but today it's his courage and resilience off the field that inspires us all," Wood said.
"We're proud to stand with him, the Titans and MND Queensland, playing our part in supporting those affected by motor neurone disease and helping more Queenslanders access the care they need.
"We hope this contribution inspires others to rally behind the MND community, investing in support and research that helps bring us one step closer to a cure."
The significant $50,000 contribution will form part of the fundraising efforts on the Gold Coast in Round 26.
On Friday, August 28; NRL coaches Josh Hannay (Titans), Wayne Bennett (Rabbitohs) and Michael Maguire (Broncos) will be special guests at a charity luncheon at Burleigh Leagues Club, raising funds for both MND Queensland and the Arrow family. Limited tickets remain via titans.com.au/standwithjai.
The following day, the Titans will host the Rabbitohs at Cbus Super Stadium as part of a NRL/NRLW double header with Gold Coast donning a customised jersey to celebrate Arrow’s time at the Titans - to be revealed soon – as well as raising funds and celebrating the NRL enforcer’s career, which began in 2016.
MND Queensland CEO Stacey Thorpe thanked The Lottery Office and wider community for their ongoing support.
"Every day matters for people living with motor neurone disease, which is why we're so grateful to The Lottery Office for this generous $25,000 donation," Thorpe said.
"This support will help MND Queensland provide practical support, care and advocacy for Queenslanders living with MND and their families."
