Aquis Titans player Jeff Lynch, one of Burleigh Bears' most consistent in 2016, is battling a knee injury in his quest to finish the season with a grand final appearance.

The former Canberra Raiders under-20s captain hurt his MCL in his knee in the Bears' final round match last weekend and faces a three to four-week layoff, which is devastating news for the popular hard-working forward.

The Bears, who finished second on the ladder, have this weekend off as the four teams below them battle out the finals eliminations.

Burleigh then play minor premiers Redcliffe to decide who goes straight to the grand final on September 25. Lynch hopes to be fit enough by then, or the preliminary final if the Bears don't go straight through, and will work as hard as he can in recovery to give himself a chance.
