Aquis Gold Coast Titans marquee signing, Jarryd Hayne, has spoken today about his excitement about his first crack at the Auckland Nines competition in a Titans jersey.

"Everyone wants to play in the Nines and for me, you’ve got Shaun Johnson, and Thursto as well so it’s going to be a great event and I’m looking forward to it," Hayne said in Auckland today.

Titans CEO, Graham Annesley said it's great news for the club having Hayne commit to the annual pre-season event.

"He's just a general all round great athlete. So to have him as part of the Nines particularly playing for the Titans, it’s exciting for us and I think he'll bring a lot of people through the turn-style," Annesley said.

Head Coach Neil Henry confirmed Hayne would be central to his plans as the Titans chase the coveted pre-season title.

“He’ll get a bit more space out there and he carries the ball well. He tried his hand at Sevens to try and get over to the Olympics and he'll be no stranger to playing that style of footy.”
