The Thomas Kelly Youth Foundation was formed following the tragic death of Thomas Kelly in 2012. The Foundation has been a powerful voice in communicating the need to create a responsible drinking culture within Australia. This foundation aims to generate a behavioural change in young people, to create a healthier, safer community.

The Thomas Kelly Foundation and the Gold Coast Titans are developing a partnership based on increasing exposure and awareness. This partnership involves The Gold Coast Titans and the Brisbane Broncos participating in a cross-club CrossFit competition to ‘lift’ awareness of community violence. This cross-club challenge will reach its pinnacle in round 22 when the Gold Coast Titans play the Brisbane Broncos.

At halftime, Thomas Kelly Youth Foundation ambassador Rebekah Stokes gave a motivational speech about her story. Rebekah was the victim of a cowardly act after a night out which changed her whole life. As an ambassador of the Thomas Kelly Foundation Rebekah’s main focus is to shed light on the issue of violence and its effects on the wider community.
