Gold Coast Titans half Tyrone Roberts underwent scans this morning on the achilles injury suffered in yesterday’s match against the Canberra Raiders at Cbus Super Stadium.

The scans revealed a strain, with the Ballina junior likely to be ruled out for two to three weeks.

The injury, suffered in the 12th minute, was a cruel blow for the Titans, who were forced into a number of positional changes early in the game when Roberts left the field.

The loss of Roberts has been compounded by the news his halves partner, Titans No.7 Ash Taylor, will not be available for selection for the Round 2 clash with Cronulla in Sydney.

Taylor will continue his recovery with the aim of being ready to return to the field in Round 3.

A full Qscan Titans Injury Update will be available later in the week.
