The NRL squad have travelled out to Tamworth ahead of tomorrow’s match vs Wests Tigers and coach Garth Brennan has given his final thoughts as the side look to make it three wins in a row.

1. The trip to Tamworth

“It’s great,” Brennan said. “It’s great to go to the country and show the people that don’t get to see top-flight football regularly.

“I know they’ve seen trials here before but it’s good they get to see a game with two points up for grabs.

“We want fans to come along and watch the team play. It’s great that they can come and watch the game and hopefully they can enjoy the way we play.”

2. We’re in a good place

“The guys are in a good place. We started the year with some pressure but we’ve relaxed a bit.

“It’s showing in our performances.”

3. Tigers bounce-back factor

“Of course, no side likes to get beaten, especially by that margin.

“Their coach is very experienced, I’m sure he’ll have them fired up. They’re still ahead of us on the ladder and we’re a desperate football team as well.

"When you look at the good sides, they back it up week-in, week-out. It’s important we come out with some purpose tomorrow."

4. Combinations

“We need to keep working on our combinations.

“We had a horrible start to the year losing hookers, losing halves and others. We lost guys in the warm-up last week.

“We need to work on the combinations and look to get some continuity.”

5. Roberts as Captain

“Tyrone’s role won’t change. He steers the team around anyway. The fact he’s got the © next to his name hasn’t changed a lot.

“He needs to keep playing the way he has been. He’s had a big contribution the last two weeks’ so he needs to keep doing that.

“It means a lot to him. He’s a Ballina boy and he’s representing his people.”
