The Gold Coast Titans and Keebra Park State High School have formalised a partnership that will see the NRL Club and the elite sporting school work hand-in-hand to develop the next generation of talent.

The partnership between the NRL side and one of Australia’s leading sporting schools will also include development opportunities for coaching and teaching staff.

Titans CEO Steve Mitchell says this is a landmark agreement, that gives students a local pathway to NRL and NRLW competitions.

“We’ve already got some wonderful Keebra Park State High products as part of our NRL squad in AJ Brimson, Moeaki Fotuaika, Tanah Boyd and David Fifita.

“Tanah and David were part of the 2017 Gio Cup winning Keebra Park State High side that defeated Westfields Sports High to win the title and we’re excited about them re-establishing the connection forged at school at NRL level next season.

“Keebra Park State High School have a reputation for not only producing high quality athletes but also quality students.

“As a Club we are active in the education and student support space and we’re committed to helping Keebra students to make sure they’re prepared for the pathway from school to professional football.”

Keebra Park State High School Principal Adam Brandis says the partnership is great for the local Gold Coast community.

“It is going to give our local kids a genuine pathway to play NRL for their local team,” Brandis said.

“They get to stay close to their support networks which is really important for them to be successful.

“It is more than an on-field partnership - it is going to be a way forward for both of our organisations to grow our community brand and develop more partnerships within the Gold Coast community.

“The Titans are an organisation that is moving forward, both on and off the field.  You can see the direction the club is going in, and it is really exciting”.

“I am excited for our girls just as much as out boys.

“When the Titans make the leap into the WNRL competition, I want to see their team stacked with Keebra talent, and I know we have the talent to fill it.”

One Power Solar will also join both the Titans and Keebra Park State High in supporting their football programs, with the national solar installer and provider to become the official solar partner of both teams.

“One Power Solar is a national brand and we’re proud to be supporting the Titans who represent our region on the national stage,” said One Power Solar Technical Director Sean Barry.

“As a former Keebra Park State High student myself, I’m excited that we can also help support the development of the next generation of talent both on and off the field who will hopefully go on to become Titans players and active members of the Gold Coast rugby league community.”

One Power Solar will feature on the front of the Keebra Park State High playing jersey and will become the official training ball partner and official solar provider of the Gold Coast Titans.
