Jimmy v Jesse, props go head to head

On paper, these two are the perfect match.

It's Jimmy against Jesse as we put Jolliffe and Bromwich head to head for the round 13 Macca's Matchup.

Bromwich, Melbourne's co-captain has started every game in 2021, while Jolliffe has come off the interchange bench in all twelve appearances for the Titans.

Despite their different roles at the start of the game, the two are averaging the same amount of game time this season (Bromwich 47 minutes, Jolliffe 46 minutes).

Bromwich heads his younger counterpart in run metres, with the Storm veteran averaging 108 metres per game compared to Jolliffe's 98 metres.

Jolliffe has his nose in front in the tackle break category (nine for Jolliffe compared to five for Bromwich), while the Titans enforcer also has the edge in the try column (one for Jollife, zero for Bromwich).

With the Gold Coast team missing Moeaki Fotuaika and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui from the starting pack for the clash, Jolliffe gets his chance to start.

"To be honest nothing really changes (whether starting or coming off the bench)," Jolliffe said.

"We've got our defensive principals and whether you're starting or coming off the bench you just need to do your job.

"That'll be my focus ... to bring the line speed, energy, that contact and to try and slow the ruck to give ourselves the best chance we can to compete with them.

"If I do get more minutes, I'll happily take them.

"That sort of style suits me, longer minutes, I like to get into the grind."

Bromwich brings 260 games worth of NRL experience which will be vital with the Storm missing Origin players Cameron Munster, Felise Kaufusi, Josh Addo-Carr, Christian Welsh and Harry Grant.

The Storm captain is into his 12th season in the competition, Jolliffe just his second, but don't expect the Titans firebrand to back down when the two come head to head at Sunshine Coast Stadium on Saturday night.
