Finals motivation firing Fotuaika

Consistency.

It is the word that every Titans player who has spoken to the media this week has uttered.

After defeating the Dragons in round 19, the Titans now face the Bulldogs at Cbus Super Stadium in round 20 with the side chasing back-to-back wins for the first time since round three.

"The boys are definitely happy that we got the win, it was a win that we needed," Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika said.

"We will take a lot of confidence out of that and hopefully bring it into this week against the Bulldogs.

"For us we are taking it week by week and trying to be consistent for our games because we haven't been consistent throughout the year."

Fotuaika shone for Queensland in the 2021 State of Origin series, playing all three games for the Maroons.

"I've taken a lot of confidence out of the origin campaign and I've tried to bring it back here to the Titans," he said.

"You definitely learn a lot ... learning off the great players in that team and that's what I tried to do through the camp, enjoy my time and enjoy the camp and just learn off those players."

The front row powerhouse says he is balancing a few niggling injuries at the back end of the year, but he is confident that his body will hold up as the Titans try and make a charge towards the finals.

"My energy levels are pretty high," Fotuaika said.

"I've got a few niggling injuries but the training staff here at the Titans have been monitoring me through the week but I'll be sweet to play on the weekend.

"My shoulder and my knee, but it is all pretty good and I've just got to stay on top of it with my recovery and making good choices.

"I think that's (finals) a motivation for all of us in the team.

"We all want to try and play finals footy but for us, we are just trying to take it week by week and focussing on game by game and hopefully we can be consistent and hopefully we can play finals footy at the end of that."
