Tino and Taumalolo go toe to toe ahead of Queensland Derby

Ahead of round 21, our Macca's Match-up sees Tino take on Taumalolo.

The two locks are under the microscope ahead of the Local Derby clash at Cbus Super Stadium between the Titans and the Cowboys.

For the Gold Coast, Fa'asuamaleaui has been fantastic in his debut season for the club.

Across his 16 games this season, Tino is averaging 138 run metres and has notched 41 tackle breaks, 7 line breaks and 3 tries.

The Queensland Origin representative has returned from Maroons duty in fine form and has been among the Titans best in their back-to-back wins over the Dragons and Bulldogs.

It'll be a new role for his match-up opponent on Sunday, with former Dally M winner Taumalolo to move into the Cowboys back-row.

Across 12 games this season, Taumalolo is averaging 157 run metres, and has 28 tackle breaks, two line breaks and one try.

At his best, he is one of the most destructive forwards in the game.

The Titans defeated the Cowboys 44 points to 8 in round three and while Fa'asuamaleaui impressed, Taumalolo missed the game through injury.

With the Queensland Derby set to reignite at Cbus Super Stadium and with finals spots on the line for both sides, this game will have plenty of spice.

The Macca's Match-up players this week will have a big say in their team's result - keep an eye on Fa'asuamaleaui and Taumalolo on Sunday afternoon.
