There was no shortage of guts from the Titans side in their 1-point defeat to the Newcastle Knights last night.

One man in particular that fought for every inch was Titans hardman Tino Fa'asuamaleaui.

Fa'asuamaleaui has been a consistent performer all year for the Titans and his tireless work ethic was on show again last night as he racked up the most metres by a forward with 169 and topped the tackle count for his side.

Tino's 40 tackles were second overall, only behind the Knights Jayden Brailey who had 42.

On the run metres front only Kalyn Ponga (181m), Hymel Hunt (185m), Corey Thompson (172m) and Phil Sami (210m) had more than Fa'asuamaleaui, but they are all outside backs with the most tackles any of those players made being 5 compared to Tino's 40.

Fa'asuamaleaui recorded over 100 run metres for the 17th time in 20 matches this year and along with Moeaki Fotuaika, continues to be one of the Titans most consistent forwards every week.

Tino's season by the numbers...

  • 20 matches
  • 135 avg. run metres
  • 30 tackles per game
  • 45 tackle breaks
  • 3 tries
