'I wouldn't trade him for anyone': Fermor fit and firing after isolation

Great news Titans fans... Beau's back!

As one of the Gold Coast's best in the opening month, the barnstorming back-rower has been named to return after being sidelined the past week due to COVID protocols.

Getting out of isolation on Thursday morning, the Maroons prospect returned to the training paddock at Cbus Super Stadium and didn't put a foot wrong in his first session back, ready to help seek revenge against Parramatta after the narrow loss in the season opener.

Second in the club's Dally M tally count so far, the 23-year-old has found the white stripe in his last two games, averaging 30 tackles a game and is a fan favourite in NRL Fantasy with a total of 165 points so far in his three appearances.

Left side partner-in-crime AJ Brimson spoke earlier in the week about welcoming back his edge forward, keen to continue building his combination with the 26-gamer.

"He's been awesome. We've been forming a good combination on the left there and he's probably been our best player so far," Brimson said.

"He's been texting me already, getting a bit of FOMO watching the game on the weekend, so he'll be keen to get back out there and score some more tries."

All out attack on the left

Coach Justin Holbrook was also full of praise of Fermor's performance in his first three matches as one of the Titans' quiet achievers.

"He showed some real good glimpses last year and then the back end of the year, got really consistent in the last five or six games [with the opportunity to start]," Holbrook said on 4BC's Wide World of Sports.

"He's been terrific in the pre-season where he's added to his skill level understanding defence and how to defend a lot better and then started the year fantastically.

"His utility value is outstanding too. He can run fast enough to be a centre, but his work ethic has been around being a a back-rower.

"He's a quiet achiever and outside the players like David Fifita, AJ Brimson, Tino [Fa'asuamaleaui], Jayden Campbell when he's back from injury who get the headlines, I wouldn't trade Beau Fermor in for anyone and he's only going to get better."

The Titans are out for revenge this Saturday night against the Parramatta Eels at Cbus Super Stadium. Secure your seat now.
