Gold Coast try-scoring whiz Alofiana Khan-Pereira crossed the line four times for the Burleigh Bears, but it wasn't enough to guide his side to victory in their Hostplus Cup match, with Mackay Cutters posting an upset 38-34 win in Round 18.
His quaddie puts the 20-year-old well and truly above the rest of the pack in regards to four-pointers with 22 in the season, ahead of the next best in the competition tallying 15.
Youngster Tony Francis also impressed yet again, running for 167 metres - 70 of those being post-contact - and Esan Marsters also contributed with 139 metres and a line break.
Further north in Cairns, the Tweed Seagulls are now only one win outside the top four after a 24-18 victory over the Northern Pride.
Scott Galeano proved the difference with a hat-trick, whilst it was a welcomed return for Joe Vuna who played his first game back from an ACL injury almost 12 months ago, easing back into things with 29 metres and 11 tackles in a 16 minute stint.
With only two rounds to go, the Seagulls next face the Blackhawks at home on Saturday; meanwhile for Burleigh, a win against Papua New Guinea will guarantee them the minor premiership.
