Gold Coast Titans-contracted flyer Alofiana Khan-Pereira is now two four-pointers clear on the Hostplus Cup top try-scorer tally after yet another scintillating triple in Burleigh's 30-16 win over the Townsville Blackhawks.
Notching up his second season hat-trick in the Saturday afternoon Round 15 affair, the 20-year-old speedster now sits on top of the rest of the competition with 16 tries, alongside his Bears outfit who are now five points clear of anyone else on the Hostplus Cup ladder with five games to play.
It was also another strong performance for Greg Marzhew who returned to reserve grade at the weekend, amassing 200 run metres, a line break and 11 tackle breaks.
On the other end of the Coast, finals footy is touch and go for Tweed after narrowly going down to the Sunshine Coast Falcons 26-18 on Saturday afternoon.
Currently sitting tied on eighth, the Seagulls take on three top eight teams in their final five remaining games in a tough end to the season.
A shining light for Tweed was Brian Kelly who played his first Hostplus Cup game since 2016, contributing with 223 metres and eight tackle breaks.
They'll make the trip north to Springsure to face the Jets next Saturday; meanwhile, the Bears take on Norths in Roma.
