Titans captain overjoyed by support at Members' Christmas Party

Whilst fans were more than thrilled to meet Tino Fa'asuamaleaui at the annual Titans Members' Christmas Party on Friday, no one was more excited than the Gold Coast skipper himself.

At his first public appearance back since returning as a World Cup champion with the Kangaroos, the Titans captain couldn't miss the opportunity to see the club's loyal fans at Movie World and share in the smiles, laughs and good times with the Legion.

"It was really good to come along and see all the fans and hear how excited they are for next year," Fa'asuamaleaui told titans.com.au.

"It gets me really excited and I can't wait to get back to training soon and work hard so we can have a good year."

Despite the tough season in 2022, the Gold Coast faithful were full of energy to meet the squad, get their autographs and hear about how pre-season training has been and what they can look forward to in the new year.

Both signing sessions held were at capacity, which the hard-running forward was proud to see with the loyal support meaning so much to the Coast's entire squad.

"It's so exciting to see. It's good how positive our fans are and how excited they are for next year," he said.

"Today has been really awesome and it really motivates us to have a big year next year."

Being a frequent visitor to Titans HQ despite still formally being on holidays after his World Cup campaign, Fa'asuamaleaui has enjoyed watching over the squad's preparation for the new season and meeting the new players who have joined.

"It's awesome to see how hard the boys have been training," he said.

"Sometimes it's hard to watch obviously when I'm not training fully but I've been in a couple of times now and it's good just to get amongst the new boys and build relationships with them.

"Come next year, I'll know them already and we can get a jump on building the combinations."

The skipper is also looking forward to the Christmas break, hosting a big family gathering, and he also hopes everyone has a great festive season as well.

"We're going to host Christmas this year and all the family are going to come over and we'll have a big feed and spoil all the kids," Fa'asuamaleaui said.

"I'm really excited to just lay back and enjoy time with the family over the break.

"I also hope all our members and fans have a great Christmas too and we can't wait to see you in the new year."
