Fa'asuamaleaui nominated for Gold Coast's top sporting gong

The Gold Coast Titans join in congratulating club captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui on his nomination for the 2022 Gold Coast Sports Star of the Year Award.

At just 22 years of age, the impressive leader notched up a long list of achievements last year at club, state and international level.

Appointed the youngest NRL captain following his exemplary leadership capabilities and long term vision for the club, the inspiring forward led from the front with his actions during a tough NRL season, resulting in his second consecutive Paul Broughton Medal as the Titans' player of the year.

His good form was rewarded with Origin selection for Queensland, who went on to defeat New South Wales in a heroic series win; followed up by Australian selection at the end of 2022, with the Kangaroos going on to win the World Cup in the United Kingdom.

Away from his on-field accolades, the Gold Coast skipper also welcomed his second child and is a proud family man with partner Jordan and daughters Alina and Gigi.

Titans CEO Steve Mitchell is proud to have Fa'asuamaleaui part of the club and congratulates him on his well-deserved nomination.

"Tino is an exceptional leader who has excelled in his role as the captain of our NRL team," he said.

"He sets such high standards for our playing group and epitomises our club's core purpose and values, making the Gold Coast community proud through his actions on and off the field.

"His extraordinary contribution in 2022 with the Titans alongside representation at Origin level and at the World Cup with Australia is thoroughly deserved and on behalf of our club, I wish him the best of luck with the other talented nominees for this year's award."

The winner will be announced at the Gold Coast Sports and Para Sports Star Awards dinner on Saturday, March 25.
