Dally M delight: Five for Fifita in Round 1 voting

David Fifita has claimed five Dally M Medal points after a standout performance from the edge forward helped the Titans tame the Tigers in Round 1.

Finishing a solid 80-minute sint making 206 metres over 17 runs, the hulking forward also had a try assist, a line break and four tackle breaks to his name as a pivotal member of the Titans' attack; not to mention he was a key threat defensively with 27 tackles.

AJ Brimson and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui also impressed with the two Gold Coast leaders picking up three and two points respectively for their efforts.

The revamped Dally M voting process will see two judges watch each game in 2023 and award points on a three-two-one basis, meaning a maximum of six points are available for every match of the 2023 Telstra Premiership season.

Five players across the competition picked up the maximum six points available, which puts Fifita in sixth spot ahead of the Titans' Sunday afternoon Round 2 derby against the Dragons at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Sydney.
