NRL 2024: Titans, Locked in: Fifita in, Palasia out as Hasler confirms changes for Dolphins derby

David Fifita will be a welcomed addition for the Sunshine Showdown as the Titans prepare to face the Dolphins at Cbus Super Stadium on Easter Sunday.

Overcoming a pec injury to make his maiden appearance of the season, Titans coach Des Hasler has confirmed the hulking forward will come into the playing squad in place of Keenan Palasia, who has failed to overcome a quad strain picked up at training this week.

"Dave will play," he said at Friday's captain's run.

"He’ll be used at some stage during the game.

"The potency Dave brings, the opportunities that come from him are important to us.

"He’s an integral part of this team."

Joe Stimson is set to take Palasia's place, named to start at prop in his first game of 2024; joining Jayden Campbell who will also get his chance to shine for the first time in the No. 1 jersey since dislocating his patella in Round 25, 2023.

Tom Weaver and Jojo Fifita will join the injured front rower as the Titans trio dropping off the extended bench, with Harley Smith-Shields and Josiah Pahulu to remain in the squad leading up to kick-off.

Kick-off is at 6.35pm AEST on Saturday, March 30 at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
