The Titans' healthy halves conundrum is heating up with four players in the mix to fill the coveted playmaking positions to start 2025.
As the clock ticks down to Gold Coast's season opener against the Bulldogs in Round 2, Des Hasler has some deciding to do given the calibre of players he has available to make-up his spine for the year ahead.
With Keano Kini more than likely to remain in the No. 1 jersey after his breakout Paul Broughton Medal season last year, Jayden Campbell and AJ Brimson join veteran half Kieran Foran battling it out for the two spots on offer.
Foran's resume speaks for itself as he approaches his 17th season in the NRL.

The 34-year-old premiership-winner has 303 games to his name and made 21 appearances in 2024; playing in tandem with Campbell on 11 occasions as a formidable combination when the duo partnered up in Round 14.
Brimson has also proven himself in the halves previously with 34 games at either five-eighth or halfback; most notably in 2022 when he finished the season in the NRL's top ten for try assists.
With no final decision outlined yet on who'll be wearing the six and seven, Brian Kelly is looking forward to watching the showdown take place - even suggesting a bolter could also be considered among the other three established playmakers.
"Foz hasn’t quite joined us [in all the main sessions] yet, but it’s definitely out of him, JC and AJ," he told Big Sports Breakfast.
"As soon as Des chucks Foz back into the mix, they’ll be battling out for it... but there’s also young Carter Gordon who has come over from the Wallabies.
"He’s been going well too, so it's a good little battle there and I’m excited to see what happens."
Now entering his ninth season of NRL, the experienced outside back has finals footy on his agenda after getting a taste of it in his debut season with Manly in 2017, as well as in 2021 with the Titans.

He's hoping a particular focus on continuing to strengthen his defence will go a long way in helping his side to potential playoffs after a tough first season under Hasler last year.
"I want to keep working on my defence. I’m keen to cut down a few more tries," Kelly said.
"We let a few in during a few high-scoring games so my defence [is probably the biggest thing I want to work on] and we definitely want to make the top eight this year.
"Knowing what Dessie has planned, we should slide in there. It’s going to take some hard work, but I’ll be disappointed if we don’t make it."
The Titans are set to face the Broncos (Toowoomba) and Dolphins (Redcliffe) in their two pre-season trial matches in February, before their campaign kicks off against the Bulldogs in Sydney on Sunday, March 16.
