Sloane's energy and positivity acknowledged through Gold Coast recognition

The Titans are proud to congratulate chief morale officer Ethan Sloane being named a finalist for the Gold Coast Young Australian of the Year Award, recognising his outstanding contribution to creating a more inclusive and connected community.

A much-loved member of the Titans family, Sloane has become an integral part of the club through his infectious enthusiasm, genuine care for others and unwavering commitment to making a difference.

Living with Down Syndrome and an ambassador for Down Syndrome Australia, he has used his lived experience to become a powerful advocate for inclusion across the Gold Coast, inspiring people both within the club and throughout the wider community.

In his role as the Titans' chief morale officer, Sloane has forged meaningful relationships with players, staff, corporate partners and members of government; bringing energy, perspective and positivity every day. His ability to connect with people from all walks of life has made him one of the most respected and admired members of the Titans organisation.

Titans community and game development general manager Renee Cohen said Sloane's recognition was richly deserved and reflected the enormous impact he continues to have across the Gold Coast.

"For many people, Ethan is the first person they look for when they walk into a room. His smile, his energy and the genuine way he connects with people make him impossible to miss," she said.

"Ethan is the absolute shining light of our club and our community. Through his role with the Titans, his involvement in Leagueability and the advocacy work he does across the Gold Coast, he is breaking down barriers and showing what is possible when people are given the opportunity to thrive.

"We are incredibly proud to see him recognised as a finalist for the Gold Coast Young Australian of the Year honour."

Sloane's journey has not been without adversity. While continuing to dedicate his energy supporting others, he has also been standing alongside his mum Lisa, as she undergoes treatment for cancer. Throughout it all, he has remained a constant source of positivity, resilience and encouragement for those around him.

"To me, Ethan is simply my son; but I know he means so much to so many other people," Lisa said.

"From a very young age, he has had a special way of bringing people together and making everyone feel welcome.

"Watching him grow into a young man who is not only achieving his own dreams, but helping create opportunities for others, fills me with pride every day.

"Ethan has faced challenges throughout his life with courage, determination and an ability to make every person he meets smile.

"Seeing him recognised as a finalist is incredibly emotional for our family, and we couldn't be prouder of the person he has become."
