Back rower Will Matthews will have a number of new men around him in the defensive line this Saturday night against the Cowboys but believes having good communication will help them to get the job done.

A hamstring injury to Dale Copley has forced Coach Garth Brennan into a re-shuffle with Phillip Sami shifting into the centre position and Tyronne Roberts-Davis comes into the side on the left wing.

“Our left side needs to be better, we all need to be better,” Matthews said. “It does make it a little tricky (the changes) and you do need to get used to the guys around you but that’s why you train with different combinations, to prepare for anything.

“We’ve got to work together and talk. When you're coming off five losses in a row and when you’re down, I think the focus really becomes about starting well.”

Matthews was a late addition to the Titans squad but feels comfortable being back at home.

“It feels right to be back home. It was a late decision but to be back close to family, have the starting spot and be playing more minutes is good.”
